The Canadian Abilities Foundation (CAF), founded in 1986, is the leading national charity for disabled people. CAF is a model for social enterprise and serves as a living example to organizations whose primary goal is to direct their energy towards self-sufficiency and pursuit of the public good.
IdeaNotion re-designed and re-implemented CAF’s website to strengthen its online presence. The website is WordPress-based, and below are some highlights of the project:
- There were seven backend systems originally and they were consolidated to four
- Uses MS SQL Server as the database and it’s Azure-ready (deployable to Azure on a change of connection string)
- Employs responsive design to work across the World Wide Web and mobile space
- Empowers full accessibility control
- Fully integrated with Facebook to drive participation and broaden effective reach
- A Windows 8 application is also developed, which syncs with the content automatically
